WORD TO THE WISE: Proclamatory, Beating Hearts, and New Songs.

Word to the wise!!! This one is going to get a little interesting so buckle up and put your helmet on!!!

So there was this sky the other day. Well…there’s one everyday actually. But this one was unique. Uniquely beautiful. It seemed to scream of a risen Savior. A God who is actively involved in every aspect of my life. A King who wants the best for me. A Father who loves me. I was driving with my mom when this sky occurred and I pointed it out to her. We both remained silent for a moment and then I spoke: “It looks…proclamatory.” After which I said, “Is that a word?” It is. According to Merriam-Webster it means “proclaiming or like that of one proclaiming”. Usually, definitions that use the word in the definition irritate me…but I like this one. This sky was proclamatory! I pray my life would be as well.

Beating Hearts

I need you to stop what you are doing RIGHT NOW and go read this post. More importantly, listen to the song attached to this post. For me, this has been an Easter week. What? Maggie…Easter is in April! No. Easter happens every day for everyone. If Easter didn’t happen every day, we wouldn’t have a right to approach God and we would never be able to do it as His spotless children. This song by Andrew Peterson really resonated with me. Remember the message of the song today, because it is transformative: His heart beats. Ours is a living God. OURS IS A LIVING GOD!!! Let us proclaim it…like that of one proclaiming…

New Songs

I have had a particularly active and successful week. I don’t say that to be bragging (at least not on myself). But I have written three new songs this week and they are three of the best ones I’ve written. I share this as a reminder.

“A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.”
-Proverbs 18:16

God has given you something. I don’t care what you say! I don’t care what our enemy tells you! God has given you something, and when you utilize it, it makes room in you for me to be done in and through you; when you use the gift God gave, it brings you before The Great.

Be His.
