Good morning all! My morning reading today was the third Psalm in the Psalter. Just a couple things that caught my attention.
“But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I cried aloud to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah.
I lay down and slept;
I woke again for the Lord sustained me.”
(vs. 3-5, ESV)
May we remember as we go throughout our day that God is our shield. He protects us as we are in the battle. This seems somewhat easy to remember. However, when the battle is raging on and we are growing weary, may we be reminded that He is also the one who lifts our heads. What a beautiful promise!
When broken hearts cry out, He answers! He is the peace that nurtures sleep and the power that maintains!
