One-Way Conversation – Devo #2

Happy Fat Tuesday!  First of all, that has nothing to do with anything but I thought it would sound funny and catch you off guard.  Second, it’s an actual thing.  Not a weird insult.  Let’s get started

Devo #2: “Obvious?”

This song is awesome.  Hollyn’s R&B/Hip Hop vibe is great…but I love when she goes a little acoustic with it.  Girls got skills.

This song is a plea to someone to open up and allow us to hurt with them.  Isn’t that the most painful thing in the world?  Someone in your life is in pain, you can see it, you make yourself vulnerable enough to offer help, and…you don’t just get a no.  You get a, “you’re crazy…there’s nothing wrong”.  But we’ve bred that into our world.  We have created a culture that says we can be vulnerable; and because talking about the hard things is just that: hard, we just.  don’t.  do it.

But when things get tough and when we’re not sure what to do…there is only one thing to do.  Run to the word of God!

“A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity.”
-Prov. 17:17, ESV

If it’s in the Bible, it is a truth that should be in our lives.  So lets do it.  Because after all.

“Isn’t it obvious?
Take off your shades look me in the face,
Isn’t it obvious?
Don’t you know what you’re missing?
Isn’t it obvious?”

So, maybe you’re the person that has been listening.  I realize, again, that puts you in a vulnerable position.  But I encourage you to grab hold of this verse.  Run into the vulnerable place with someone in your life who is camping there by themselves.

And, maybe you think that is who this post is for.  However, honestly, I’m more interested in speaking to you.  Yes, you!  The one who hasn’t been talking.  People care about you.  If you can’t see anyone else in your life who does…I do.  There is a contact page on this blog.  If you need someone to talk to please message me.  Or find me on Facebook or Instagram.  I will talk with you.  I will listen to you.  I would also say that you should look at your life and find the people in it who would listen to you.  There are people!

Remember also that there is a Good, Great God you can talk to; and He loves to hear from you!

Love each other.
